Mold during Water Damage

This customer had a water damage that they discovered in the basement of their town house, but did not know what caused it. After investigating, we came to the conclusion that the damage may have happened because of moisture found in the foundation. Because the water had been sitting for a while, it had wicked up the walls requiring all affected drywall, insulation, pad and trim to be removed--we had to cut the drywall about 2 feet high. Also to aid in the drying process, we set equipment. We found microbial growth while removing drywall and carpeting. When this occurs, we apply a sealant (which is the white substance similar to paint that is seen on the bottom studs of the "after" picture). The sealant helps to keep the growth's spores "sealed" so that they don't become airborne. Once everything was dried out and the microbial growth was taken care of, the customer was ready for repairs.
